About OCAC Nigeria
We adhere to Catholic teachings as found in the Bible and as proclaimed by St. Vincent of Lerins.
The seed of the Nigerian Church was sown in 2013, after Bishop Raphael Fagbohun received a revelation from God to lead this liberation movement for all who have been praying for true Catholic Christianity which is found in the Old Catholic Church.
The Old Catholic Church was officially registered in Nigeria in 2014 as “The Old Catholic Apostolic Church” to differentiate it from the Roman Catholic Church.
His was a calling and a special mandate to nurture the existing Old Catholic Apostolic movement, as one would nurture a child, to maturity.
Prior to then, Bishop Fagbohun was an ordained priest working as the Pioneer Police Chaplain in the Force Headquarters, Abuja. He resigned from the Roman Catholic Church shortly after receiving the calling and was consecrated as the First Nigerian Old Catholic Bishop in Scotland, United Kingdom on August 6, 2014. On December 6, 2014, the Nigerian Province of OCAC became an autonomous province and Bishop Fagbohun was installed as leader of the OCAC in Nigeria and later elected as leader of the African Church in 2015 in Cameroon.
OCAC has grown significantly in Nigeria under Bishop Fagbohun’s leadership since then, and now has centres, parishes, and schools all over Nigeria. The Nigeria Church is the most significant representation of OCAC in the African Continent.
Our Vision is that all Catholics, throughout the entire world, will return to Original Christianity.
We have a focused mandate of returning God’s children back into the fold of Christ and restoring original Catholic Church teachings – which are in line with true Christian beliefs and practices as set out by Jesus Christ.
Our Mission is to restore true Catholic Christianity based on the Word of God, the teachings of Jesus, Apostolic Doctrines, and Early Christian Traditions.
We are compelled by God’s love for all of us to reach out with compassionate words to those who have strayed from Him to come back into fellowship.

Our team has grown from two to over 15 people, as our agency has expanded and developed over the years. We are based in New York, USA and our team come from all over the world.
