Bishop Peter Idom Ulofu

PETER IDOM ULOFU, born a credo Roman Catholic into the family of Mr Francis Ishabor Ulofu of Ejagham extraction in Ogoja (Ishiborr) Local Government Areas of Cross River State, Nigeria, West Africa.

His academic life sojourn saw him through the following Institutions and birthed these academic certificates respectfully: St Peter's Minor Seminary Yola, 1993(SSCE); St Thomas Aquinas Major Seminary, Makurdi, 1997(B.A Philosophy); St Augustine Major Seminary Jos, 2002(BSc Art); Delta State University Abraka, 2000(LLB); Nigerian Law School Bwari, 2010(BL); and University of Benin, Benin city, 2015(LLM). In addition, the following are some of his publications: The Knight of the Altar; The Intercourse; The Old Catholics (Now that I know) and The Independent Catholics.

The Ladder of his ministerial service started on 13th February, 2002 with his Diaconate Ordination and subsequently his Priestly Ordination on 27th July 2003 by His Grace Most Rev Ignatius Ayu Kaigama. Formally, he made final religious vows into the Order of Friars of St Augustine in 2002. Like the Biblical separation of Paul and Mark through the process of incardinated was accepted into the Old Catholic Apostolic Church, Nigerian Province of the Alexandrian Patriarchate in Africa under the umbrella body Independent Catholicism (others Roman and Orthodox Catholicism). By the protocol of election endorsed by the Presiding Bishop of the Old Catholic Apostolic Church Worldwide was elected to the Episcopate and subsequently consecrated in 2016 with the motto for his Episcopal Mandate: vita in abundantuim) I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly Jn: 10:10.

Today, through the Apostolic Tradition of Tentmaker Ministry; He doubles as a Prison/Cell Pastor under the Old Catholic Apostolic Church Prison/Partnership and civil worker in the following positions and places: Kuje Prison/Police Cell as Pastor; Don Ulofu Chambers as Principal Partner; United African State Government as Executive Commissioner Legal Affairs, and then the Institute of Chartered Mediator and Conciliators, as Director of Programme.

Over the years Bishop Peter has had robust engagements with many international and local bodies amongst others is: OSA International Justice and Peace Commission; Merrimack College Center for Citizen Engagement USA; Law Firm of T. J Onomigho Okpoko SAN & Partners, Ken E. Mozia SAN & Co .Other singled out engagements prowess include a stint as a Team Player on Mediation Trainings for Organizations that include ECOWAS, Petroleum & Natural Gas Senior Staff Association (PENGASSAN); Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC); Negotiator and Participant on Committee for Niger Delta Militant Youths Amnesty Project; Promoter of Justice, Development and Peace Commission projects and Policies for OSA International (Nigerian Province); Partnership with the Merrimack College School of Education for Women Studies and Interventions, (CWSI); Participant in Committee for Subsidy and Oil Marketer Forum; Participant at WTO Trade Facilitation Agreement & Regional Trade Facilitation Rules and Regulations (ECOWAS); and Participant On Industrial Relation Conferences; Visitor at yearly Energy Week (Nigeria).

Bishop Peter is blessed in life with these biological family and Associations: Barr (Mrs) Blessing Toju Ulofu (late wife), Bitrus Awotu, Pearl Mbag-isho Ulofu and Blessing Ikorrisho Ulofu. A Member of the Nigeria Bar Association and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Mediators and Conciliator
